Mahala Norris, a senior at Air Force Academy, won the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase title in a lifetime-best 9:31.79 to edge Auburn's Joyce Kimeli (9:31.84) with a well-timed lean at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. Norris secured the first women's outdoor title in any event for the Falcons since 2006 and elevated to the No. 6 all-time collegiate competitor.
