Texas Tech senior Zarriea Willis won the women's high jump title over North Carolina standout Nicole Greene in a jumpoff, clearing 6-2 (1.88m) in the second round of the elimination competition at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas. Willis and Greene were both perfect through 6-1.50 (1.87m), before both athletes missed all three tries at 6-2.75(1.90m). They each missed another elimination attempt at 6-2.75, before Willis eventually cleared 6-2 to complete the sweep of national indoor and outdoor crowns, becoming the first female athlete since Georgia's Mady Fagan in 2017 to win both in the same year.
