Rhasidat Adeleke, a junior at Texas representing Ireland, won her 400-meter semifinal race in 49.86 seconds at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin. She also contributed to the Longhorns improving on their own 4x100-meter relay collegiate record to 41.55 seconds in their semifinal race. Texas lowered its own mark of 41.89 from May 14 at the Big 12 Championship in Oklahoma, trailing only performances by national teams from the United States, Jamaica, East Germany and Russia in global history.
