Eke Ready For TJ FinalPublished by
By Jack Pfiefer // Photo by Rick Russell EUGENE, Ore. – Nadia Eke is ready to jump. Eke, a senior at Columbia, is one of the top qualifiers in the women’s triple jump. She won the LJ/TJ double at the Heptagonal Championships last month, and narrowly lost the Penn Relays TJ championship, jumping 43-11 ¾ with a barely-illegal wind of plus 2.1 mps, beaten by 2cm by Ciarra Brewer of Florida. Eke went to high school in Worcester, Mass., after her parents moved to the United States from Ghana, where Eke was born and where she lived until adolescence. “I’ve been working on my jump technique a lot this year,” Eke said. “I’m ready.” The women’s triple jump will be contested here on Saturday afternoon. The favorite is the freshman at Georgia, Keturah Orji, a prep in New Jersey a year ago. /JP/ Watch our interview with Nadia here: armory.tf/1B5DfAI
