UC Santa Barbara senior Hope Bender placed fourth in the women's heptathlon with a personal-best 5,955 points at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships in Austin, Texas. Bender, who earned All-America first-team recognition in both indoor pentathlon and outdoor heptathlon, elevated to the No. 43 all-time collegiate performer, improving on her previous-best score by 15 points from April 17-18 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
