The Penn sophomore has raced—and won—at a variety of distances this spring.Six races. Six different events. Six wins. The University of Pennsylvania’s Thomas Awad, who will turn 20 on May 27, is having a dream season. On March 14, Awad, a sophomore, won the 800m at the University of South Florida Invitational in 1:53.98. On March 22, he won a 3,000m in 8:25.78 at Penn and then a week later, he ran 13:48.90 at the Raleigh Relays 5,000m to take first place. At George Mason on April 12, Awad was first across the line in the 1500m, running 3:42.89 before scooting to a 3:58.34 mile victory on his home track at the Penn Relays on April 26. Then, at the Ivy League championships on May 10, Awad ran his first ever 10,000m on the track and won the conference title in 29:26.13. Read the full article at: www.runnersworld.com
