Leo Manzano Seeks His Third NCAA 1500-Meter Crown - And A Trip To Beijing
The University of Texas phenom just won his fourth NCAA Regional 1500-meter title; "it was a bit nostalgic," he observes. This week in Des Moines, Manzano will be going for his third NCAA Championships victory in the 1500. And his season's
really just beginning. After finishing second at the 2007 USATF
Championships and competing in the World Championships in Osaka,
Manzano's prospects for making the U.S. Olympic team in the 1500 have
to be rated highly. He's been training in sultry Austin weather that
should be good preparation for Beijing. Osaka was a bit of a rude
awakening for Manzano.
