Published by
Texas A&M sophomore teammates Lianna Davidson, representing Australia, and Katelyn Fairchild finished second and third, respectively, at the NCAA Division 1 Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. Davidson produced a lifetime-best throw of 192-10 (58.78m) in the fifth round and Fairchild achieved a personal-best 190-2 (57.97m) in the fourth round for the Aggies, who became the first women's program in Division 1 history to twice have a pair of teammates place in the top three in the javelin final in the same year. Davidson equaled the No. 19 competitor in collegiate history and Fairchild elevated to the No. 25 all-time performer, as Texas A&M is the only women's program all-time to boast three javelin throwers who have surpassed 190 feet.
