Kentucky freshman Sydney McLaughlin won the women's 400-meter hurdles in 53.96 seconds at the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore. McLaughlin also ran a 50.03-second split on the third leg of the Wildcats' 4x400 relay, which placed fourth in 3:30.52. She also confirmed after the meet that it would be her last meet for Kentucky, with the intent of pursuing a professional career, although McLaughlin has not yet hired an agent.
