Men's Track and Field shines to open NCAA ChampionshipsPublished by Texas SID on June 10, 2015 EUGENE, Ore. – It was a very successful day for the Texas Longhorns as the men's team opened the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a handful of personal records, a school record and two All-American performances.
Craig Lutz highlighted the scoring opportunities as he finished fourth in the 10,000 meters. Ryan Crouser finished fifth in the shot put, unable to defend his back-to-back titles. The two seniors will earn All-America status for their showings.
Sprinter Senoj-Jay Givans put himself in contention in the 100 meters as he broke his own school record in the semifinals with a time of 10.03 seconds. He also ran a personal best in the 200 but could not advance. Read the full article at: www.texassports.com
